Revenue is the income that a business generates from normal business activities, usually from the sale of goods and services to customers. For most traditional businesses, this would be the money they make from the sales of their products (in the case of a store) or from the sale of their services (in the case of service providers such as accountants, hairstylists, and uber drivers). Most of our customer will fall into the service revenue category.
There are two types of revenue: Gross and Net. Both of these terms refer to the same moneys coming in, but one takes into account costs and expenses while the other does not. Gross Revenue refers to the total income a business makes, prior to any taxes, costs or deductions. This is also what most are referring to when they say "Revenue" in general terms. In contract, Net Revenue refers to the total income after all those deductions, costs, and taxes are taken into account.
On your Fundo application, in the business information section, you will be asked to provide your estimated monthly revenue. In this case, we are looking for the average gross monthly revenue you make in total from all your self employed positions, contract jobs or contractor-based gigs.
If you are unsure what your average monthly revenue is, it's fairly easy to calculate. Add up your earnings from any number of months, then simply divide by that number.
